'SPASTIC'

�e could barely steer
the fucking thing
his wee floppy legs

�e�s ugly grinning spotty face
and thick black-rimmed spectacles
held thegither
wi� elastoplast

the humffy back
crawlin� above �e�s ears
and ribs aw twisted
under that thick neck

laughing fit to burst
oor finger�s up �e�s erse
during manual evacuation
that�s how stupid he was

the lazy wee shite
would do nothing for himself
always pissing e�s self
straight efter toileting

we�d get angry and shout
but he�d look so bewildered
and sad and pathetic
that we�d make it intae a joke

we wouldnae want tae hurt �e�s feelings
nae hairm tae the wee man
but mibbe it�s a blessing

i woke up first

floppy breasts
worn out
slid down
to the side
the cold
on your nipples

round belly
in lumps over hips
tight above your navel
stretched smooth
white

thighs dimpled
cavewoman fat
calves muscled
ankles awkward
misshapen

i kissed your nose

no smell now
finger poked
acid burned
eyes

hands
shrunken
and deformed
into unfamiliar shapes

the tight stretched
disinfected skin
tearing; the stuffing
seeping out

rain falls cold
ice and snow
breathe with the wind
into the dirt

when she danced
pushing me around
fingers sliding
secretly
over and through
inviting danger
and madness
you at the bar
drinking

I wish I�d fucked your girlfriend

in the taxi
thin summer skirt
riding up
over bare white thighs
legs carefully apart
hand resting
on black knickers
you talking football
to the driver

I wish I�d fucked your girlfriend

when she put her mouth
on my lips
and sweat rolled
down my belly
onto her fingers
her tight smooth skin
soft against me
you sleeping
in the next room

she knew nothing about
razor blades

where did they come from?

like slivers of light
cutting elegant patterns
red on pale skin

what was their purpose?

she knew the value
of their medicine
and imagined that
they cut death
out of people

she felt
she could prove this
for herself

the darkness
edged back
from the hills
way beyond
the tower block

i dropped her off
i never knew her
yet wept in her arms
when she asked
your name

she kissed you
out of me
for a while

a Christmas tree
on top of a crane
flickers erratically
like a promise of
hope and good will
