GILLIAN FINDLAY

Born: 17 March 1983 at the Simpson's Maternity Hospital, Edinburgh

Q: Where do you work when you're not behind the bar at the Tynecastle Arms?

A: I'm an administrative assistant for the Institute of Occupational Medicine. I've worked there about a year. Prior to that I used to work in an accident repair garage as receptionist until a new manager started, brought all his old staff with him, and started giving me a hard time, belittling me in front of his staff, till I eventually told him to fuck off

How did you get the job at the Tynecastle Arms?:

A: I basically phoned up all the pubs in Gorgie asking for work, as I wanted some part-time work related to the football as I'm enormous Hearts fan. At the interview, Senga asked me, have you ever poured a pint before?/Do you have a car to drive yourself home? I said yes to both, and so I got the job

So how many hours a week to you work all together?:

A: 37 and a half at my full-time job and anything from 12 hours a week in the pub. I live with my dad and I'm saving up for a flat. I manage to put away about £100 a month. That leaves me enough for petrol and going out.

Q: Why are you such a big Hearts fan?

A: My mum and dad support St Johnstone as they're from Perth. When we moved here though I decided to support my local team. I'm a season ticket holder at Tynecastle. I'm going to miss my first home game in 4 years soon because I'm going on holiday to Zante in Greece. My favourite game, apart from winning the Cup against Rangers, was the 2nd game last season when we hammered Hibs 5-1. That certainly shut them up about their 6-2. I go to as many away games as I can afford but I'd never go to Easter Road. I really regret not being at the Cup Final as I was cleaning tables at the Gyle Food Court at the time, so missed it. I go to all the home games with my pals, Emma, Fiona and Sarah.

Q: What would be your idea of a perfect day?

A: Watching Hearts beat Hibs at Tynecastle, popping into the pub for a celebratory drink, then going home, getting dressed up and going out for a night on the town. I'd probably go to Cyclone in the Cowgate. It's the last pub you could get into after the big fire down there.

Q: If you were the manageress of the Tynie, what would you change?

A: I'd make the bar wider and also, change the juke-box. All the music on it is ancient. Get more chart music on it, instead of all the 50's, 60's and 80's rubbish. Anything from the 90's onwards would be better

Q: What would be your ideal job?

A: A personal shopper would be good

Q: What sort of films/tv programmes do you like?

I like 'Eastenders' because it's so depressing it makes your life seem a bit better. I also like 'Coronation Street' for the same reason. I also think the comedian, Lee Evans is very funny, particularly his sketches about visiting people in old folk's homes. It's so true. When I go to visit my grandad and go into the lounge in the home and say 'Grandad,' about 8 old men look round.

Q: What three bits of advice should everyone be told?

Never get a credit card; be nice to people and they'll be nice to you (sometimes) and dinnae expect everything to be handed to you on a plate if you haven't worked for it

Q: What three things annoy you most?

People who tut at me if it's taking them a while to get served; Barry Ferguson, although now he's left Rangers it's not so bad. He's just so arrogant all the time. Also, taxi drivers who think they rule the road while I'm driving. Just the other day, a woman taxi driver pushed me in and made me clip the mirror of a parked car. They drive me mad. Also, when the NHS give transplants to people whose illnesses are self-inflicted rather than those who have looked after themselves

Q: What is your earliest memory?

My mum sitting on the settee, talking to my new baby sister when she was wee, in our house in East Craigs

Q: What would be your perfect phone call?

Craig Levein (Hearts manager) phoning me up to ask advice on what he should do with the team

Q: What are you five favourite thing?

1. Hearts
2. Chocolate - particularly Dairy Milk
3. Lager - Millers
4. My bed - I love my bed
5. My day off - I've been working 7 days this week
