Everyone knows me as "Buck" though. About 10 years ago I used to go down to Carlisle to babysit for my brother. His wee boy, Andrew, used to call me Uncle Buck cos he thought I looked like John Candy. It's stuck since then. Andrew's off fighting in the Gulf at the moment
Born: 11 November 1950 in Leith Hospital. I lived in Leith till I was 2, then Lamancha till I was 4, the Hutchison end of Gorgie, then moved to Comrie in Perthshire till I was 15, then back to Edinburgh till I was 17, then once more back to Comrie, then I moved back to Edinburgh when I was 23 and I've been here ever since. I've got around a bit in my 52 years. Even in Edinburgh, I've lived in Wardlaw Street, Gorgie Road, South Gyle, Hutchison and where I now live, in Wardlaw Place

Q: What part of Edinburgh should every visitor coming to the city see?
A: The Caledonian Bowling Club, round the corner in Russell Road. I'm a member there. And they should also come in here. I'm a Gorgie person through and through. I wouldn't stay anywhere in Edinburgh but Gorgie, if you paid me. They could also go to the Castle for history's sake
Q: What don't you like about Edinburgh?
A: The other end of Princes Street, ie Leith because I'm a Jambo. Otherwise, I love Edinburgh. It's a great place
