ROBERT STUART BURNS
Born: 5 November 1957 in the Simpson's. A Simpson's baby. I've lived in Edinburgh for most of my life, apart from a little time in Melrose and a little time in Dundee
Q: When/why did you first start drinking in the Tynecastle Arms?
A: The first time must have been about 15-20 years ago when I first moved to Gorgie. Or longer. How old am I now? No, must be about 20-25 years ago actually
Why do you keep going in?:
A: Because I think I add a certain tone to what would otherwise be a drunken rabble
Q: What is your favourite tipple?
A: I've found as I've moved further into my delusions of grandeur that snakebite suits me well. I'll be back on the 70 Shilling soon though, I'm sure. I'm going through a new pubescence.(At this point, Bertie's partner, Annie asked if this meant he was an under-age drinker. He replied: "Well it adds to the glory of the website")
Q: What is your favourite song/music?
A: I love the 2nd movement of Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto. I think it adds a little tone to the bar
Q: What is your favourite film?
A: Probably 'Some Like it Hot' and 'Gremlins.' They'll do
Q: What place in Edinburgh do you think every visitor to the city should see?
A: I'd probably take them for a pint in Sandy Bell's pub in Forrest Road because there's a good atmosphere, good mix of folk and its still one of the old style boozers. They'd also have to see the Royal Museum because I work there. Then to get some perspective, they should go to visit Sarah's kitchen, though I've never seen it myself, I should add. I'll look on your website
Q: What don't you like about Edinburgh?
A: There's too many cars. Too much traffic. They should make it far more bus and cycle friendly
