a poetry magazine that doesn't care who you aren't
Anon has to be the most appealing poetry magazine to emerge in years due to its anonymous submission procedures. Poems are submitted and assessed anonymously, meaning that the focus is on the writing rather than the writers. Full information about how to submit work is available on the website, where you can also see snippets of poetry and prose. There is a great kids’ section called Don’t Dance Dad – in each issue it is up for grabs by one anonymously submitting children’s poet, who sees his or her work showcased across eight pages and illustrated by artist David McAleece. Anon ought to be on the hit-list of all poets who want their work assessed rather than their reputation. It provides a level playing field for everyone, known and unknown, and puts the focus squarely on poems rather than on poets.

The Ganzfeld is an annual book of pictures and prose produced and published by Monday Morning. It presents a unique visual take on the world by gathering together a diverse selection of design, illustration, comics, and picture stories along with essays that place them in a historical and critical context.

Eyeshot.net is litter for the ill and literate featuring hopelessly convoluted literature, stories that many might think could use some serious crafting and revision, stories that have been repeatedly rejected at for-profit print publications, book-tour diaries about american writers and their hair, links to digital art sites, audio interviews with superfamous writers and ridiculously slow-loading animations of birds feeding on multicolored stars and then vomiting just a little. Launched in August 1999, this site enjoys a modest following that doubles every few months and occasionally takes off whenever a Hungarian or Scandanavian sexblog links to the autofellator interview

FRONT AND CENTRE

One of the reasons I set up Lit Mag Central in the first place, Matthew Firth's seminal, wonderful, creme-de-la-creme lit mag is a must for anyone remotely interested in bold new writing. Each issue is full of the cream of new, ballsy, international writing and should be devoured, cherished and held onto as gold-dust for when the painstakingly selected talent on offer make it inevitably massive. One of the very best which I heartily recommend you click the image and subscribe to via their new website, if you haven't already.

If it's good, they throw it up there.
